About this Course

This course focuses on basic English grammar skills for beginning English learners. Topics covered include the production of past verbs and the production of compound sentences.

Learning modules

  • Week 1
    • Preparation and Review to Complete the sentences with correct verbs (simple present, present progressive, simple past, past progressive). Pay attention to time words.

    • Azar (Pearson English Portal) Class Participation: Verb tenses: Simple present/past; Progressive present/past

    • Using the sentences from class as models, create 1 sentence for each tense: (simple present, present progressive, simple past, past progressive). Pay attention to time words.

    • Board work *hmwk. review* followed by Study Guide Part A: Closed book evaluation; mastery of listed objectives 3.G 1& 3.G 3

  • Week 2
    • Weekly Discussion: Progress; Objectives for Week 2 ( 01/8 AND 01/09) WH questions; simple past and 4 modals)
