About this Course

This course focuses on basic English grammar skills for intermediate English learners. Topics covered include the identification of adjective clauses and the production of the past perfect and past perfect progressive.

    • Verb + Gerund (Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verbs in parentheses.

    • Review Chart 13-2 Go + Gerund (Complete each sentence with a form of "go" and a word from the list.

    • Charts 13.1 through 13.4 Identifying Gerunds and Infinitives (Verb + gerund or infinitive)

    • Homework, AMY FINDS A NEW JOB (UNDERLINE GERUNDS) (CIRCLE INFINITIVES)

  • week 2
    • TOPIC-Active to Passive Voice Sentences - 5 sentencesSimple Present and Simple Past); (5 sentences Present Perfect/Past Perfect)

    • Quiz: Gerunds and Infinitives

    • Active to Passive/Chart Paper/peer editing

    • Pairs present 4 sentences 1 each active to passive in Simple Present/Past and Present Perfect/Past Perfect tenses

    • Chapter 10 Page 148 and 149 The Passive Voice (Quiz 1, 2, and 3)

  • week 3
    • Review Adjective Clauses AND Past Perfect (Chart 4.8)

    • Present Tense: simple present; present progressive; present perfect; present perfect progressive

    • Global Topics answering questions; stating opinions; using propoer verb tenses answers and questions

    • Activity 321 after Study Guide Focus on Adjective Clauses and Past Verbs: Simple Past; Past Perfect; Past Progressive

    • Quiz: Gerunds/Infinitives; Adjective Clauses; and Active to Passive.

  • week 4
    • From Study Guide Groups (3) will: review their topic with the class and create a test 4 questions on chart paper.

    • Students assigned different group numbers and follow the pattern below: mini-lesson & 5 sentence practices

    • Class develops group story using gerunds and infinitives

    • Homework: review for Exam using wordsearch

    • Final Exam Level 6 Grammar

    • Alternate Final (Cycle B) for student taking final early
