About this Course

L7. This course focuses on basic English communication skills for high-intermediate/low-advanced English learners. Topics covered include formal presentations and the production of complete sentences with target phrasal verbs.
L8.This course focuses on basic English communication skills for advanced English learners. Topics covered include working with sources and the delivery of planned and impromptu presentations.
- 7.LS.1 Discuss information found in academic sources to determine important details, credibility, and author’s purpose in complete sentences.
- 7.LS.2 Ask and respond to open-ended questions on academic topics using complete sentences.
- 7.LS.3 Produce sentences with target phrasal verbs.
- 7.LS.4 Perform a 4 to 5-minute planned presentation with electronic visuals and proper citations.
- 7.LS.5 Deliver an impromptu presentation on class topics.
- 8.LS.1 Associate causes and effects from a variety of sources.
- 8.LS.2 Brainstorm solutions, classify information, and determine the accuracy of information collected
- from sources.
- 8.LS.3 Deliver a 5-minute planned presentation with electronic visuals and proper citations.
- 8.LS.4 Deliver an impromptu presentation on class topics.
